Scavenger Hunts explore Newcastle's revitalised spaces

30 Nov 2021

Hunter and Central Coast Development Corporation (HCCDC) has sponsored local ‘fun-finder’ expert Newy With Kids, to create two Scavenger Hunt maps exploring the transformed former railway precincts in Newcastle at The Station and Museum Park.

The engaging and educational maps provide an opportunity for families to explore the historic spaces transformed by HCCDC as part of the Revitalising Newcastle program, unlocking clues to learn about the unique features of the precincts.

HCCDC’s Chief Operating Officer Valentina Misevksa said it’s exciting to see the community spaces being enjoyed and loved by the community.

“Now more than ever, Newcastle families are hungry for open-air activities that are free, easy to access, and can be enjoyed by parents and grandparents - as well as the kids,” Ms Misevska said.

“The Scavenger Hunts are a great way to encourage people to get active outdoors and learn about the history and creative design solutions that makes our city so special."

The self-paced Hunts encourage participants to explore and learn about the features of the revitalised public spaces, finding various points of interest, and answering questions to solve a mystery phrase.
