Newcastle's most unique pop-up destination at the revitalised former city railway station. The Station's temporary activation is all about fun and creativity in a unique heritage setting.
While its exciting long-term use is being determined, The Station is being enjoyed as a pop-up community hub for events, shopping and recreation.
The Station features:
- creative workshop spaces and great shopping - including jewellery, clothing, books, gifts homewares and art
- a mix of market days, creative workshops, fitness, music and foodie events
- a huge outdoor piazza with sheltered tables, seating and adjoining lawns for picnics - and plenty of room for exercise and play
- a kids corner with a scooter track, hopscotch, sensory flowers, and a big frog and snake.
Our transformation of The Station has been delivered as part of NSW Government's Revitalising Newcastle program.
Scavenger hunts
Explore The Station and nearby Museum Park on a self-guided scavenger hunt.
The hunts encourage exploration and play, revealing hidden gems about the unique history of the former railway station's by uncovering clues and solving mystery phrases.
The hunts are free and accessible open-air activities that will keep the kids (and grown-ups) entertained.
